An academic year consists of two semesters of approximately 16 weeks each, with two start dates per year: fall and spring. There are no scholarships available for new students, but after two semesters at Washburn, you may become eligible for faculty or departmental scholarships.

Academic Program
For undergraduate programs (Study Abroad, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, etc.), you generally need to have completed upper secondary school. To study at the graduate level (Master’s Degree), you need to hold a Bachelor’s Degree. To be admitted to Washburn University, you must take an English language test and achieve the required score. You will also need to have your previous high school or university send your official transcripts directly to the university.
Intensive English Program (IEP)
International students applying to Washburn University to study English must take an English language test (Duolingo English Test, IELTS, iBT TOEFL, Oxford ELLT, or PTE), but do not need to submit official transcripts. If you take the TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo test, you must arrange for your scores to be sent directly to Washburn University.
